Raffaele La Capria’s 1961 novel, winner of the Strega Prize, takes to the stage in Emanuele Trevi’s adaptation, directed by Roberto Andò. The story is a romantic diary, starting with the main character Massimo, moving on to his beloved Naples, to the collapse of the Southern Italian bourgeoisie, to the destructive power of money and the pleasure of masquerading as someone other than oneself. We are in the troubled post-war years in a city still in ruins. The cast includes: Gea Martire, Paolo Mazzarelli, Andrea Renzi.
