Massimiliano Civica directs one of Neil Simon’s finest comedies, set in New York. The play features middle-aged upper-middle-class characters who are lively, cunning, and trying to survive the stressful pace of life they do not feel comfortable with and would rather do without. It was written after the death of Simon’s wife and marked a new chapter in his life and art. Simon is known as one of the most successful writers in Broadway history, with a talent for telling stories where characters say and do absurd things that contrast with their underlying sadness. The play focuses on George and Jeannie, both wounded by life in different ways, and two friends who want to offer them a second chance, leading to unpredictable outcomes for all four. The cast includes Maria Vittoria Argenti, Ilaria Martinelli, Aldo Ottobrino, and Francesco Rotelli.
