Strega Prize winner Tiziano Scarpa’s talent is showcased in a show inspired by Cervantes’ masterpiece, using the rich effects of Controluce Teatro’s shadows. The play follows Aldonza, also known as Dulcinea, and Teresa Panza, Sancho’s wife, as they set out to find Don Quixote and his squire. Aldonza is eager to meet the man who has been speaking over-highly of her, leading her to change and live up to her newfound fame. The play combines remote and contemporary situations with frequent anachronisms, reinterpreting the Spanish author’s masterpiece through a present-day perspective. The cast includes Enrico Dusio, Gianluca Gambino, Giovanna Rossi, Valter Schiavone, and Corallina De Maria as the shadow performer.
