Festa grande di aprile is the title of the play through which Franco Antonicelli—an extraordinary figure as writer, photographer, journalist, and partisan—retraces Italian events from 1924 to 1945: from the days of the Matteotti murder to the Resistance and the Liberation. It is a heartfelt invitation to collectively and consciously take part in this popular retelling of our history, which reminds us that truth must be actively sought, not passively awaited. Conceived with historical consultancy and narration by Gianni Oliva and adapted for the stage by Diego Pleuteri, the production is directed by Giulio Graglia and performed by a cast of young actors.
