This is the first time Valerio Binasco has addressed Luigi Pirandello on the Teatro Carignano stage, where Il piacere dell’onestà (The Pleasure Of Honesty) opened to great success on 27 November 1917. Director Binasco has created a production poised between tradition and echoes of Jon Fosse. Not only does the cast include several well-established performers (Giordana Faggiano, Orietta Notari, Rosario Lisma, Lorenzo Frediani, Franco Ravera) with roles Binasco has endowed with strong emotions, he has actually taken on one of the roles himself, that of the leading character, Angelo Baldovino, an anti-hero who disrupts so-called bourgeois ethics and becomes the very soul of this ruthless and poignant drama.
