An ideal appendix to the Chekhovian trilogy directed by Leonardo Lidi, this new production celebrates the poetic connection between the works of the Russian master and those of American playwright Tennessee Williams. It marks a further step in the exploration of the human soul and its disguises. Past and future, sexual identity and traditional family, a woman pretending to be a mother, a man pretending to be heterosexual: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a dramatic living nativity in which all the characters are masked as something they wish they weren’t.
