Shakespeare’s Macbeth received a raft of awards (including the Premio Ubu Award for Best Performance of the Year, the National Association of Theatre Critics’ Award at the MESS Awards/Sarajevo Festival). The play is directed by Alessandro Serra, and performed in Sardinian by an all-male cast, including an amazing Leonardo Capuano. Stones, earth, iron, blood, and traditional Sardinian masks all blend perfectly into the English tragedy.
